Ray’s Revival Project
Ray Evernham spills his plans to revitalize the iconic International Race of Champions (IROC), and his split from the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) on Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s recent podcast. 🎙️
Evernham, a legend in the pit lane, detailed his initial role in SRX, crafting it as a “mini IROC” for legends of the track. Despite its conceptual success and a first season that pulled in over a million viewers, Evernham stepped back due to creative and financial disagreements with partners. “At the end of the year, when there’s no moving forward… you have to have a hard conversation,” he reflected.
His departure didn’t mark the end but a pivot back to his roots, acquiring the IROC branding and dreaming of “old cars on the track” with racing’s finest. Evernham imagines a future where IROC isn’t just a series but a global showdown of motorsport titans.
“Oh my god yes, that’s my dream,” Evernham enthuses about promoting IROC, aiming to mesh it with the fabric of American motorsports and beyond.
