Perezâs Growing Pains
Red Bull Racingâs Sergio Perez opened up about his adaptation journey to the revamped RB19. After starting 2023 on fiređ„ with two poles and two wins in five races, Perez admitted the RB19âs development sometimes âdidnât really suit me.â
He shared, âThere are a lot of things that are so different. How you drive is completely different⊠You are able to do things that with a Force India you cannot do.â Adding that he often feels âa step or two behind.â
On pressure: âWe started the year so high, so youâre thinking you are a championship contender, youâve won two races. Then, all of a sudden, you feel like, âAh, this weekend doesnât feel like it did beforeâ, so youâre losing confidence because youâre not fully confident with the car. In F1, if youâre not fully confident with a car at 250kph into a corner, then you are doubting a little bit more, and itâs what really happened in those moments.â
đ Still, Perez is #2 in the championship after 13 races, with Verstappen leading by a wide margin. Red Bull đ dominates the constructorsâ list, way ahead of Mercedes.

End of an Era
Thank you to everyone who helped me accomplish my dream.

Aug 26, 2023
Kurt Busch, NASCAR legend with 776 Cup Series starts, is trading his racing gloves for the recliner. After a crash in 2022 sidelined him with a concussion, Busch never fully returned. đđ„ âRacing at NASCARâs highest level requires every last bit of focus, heart, stamina and determination, and I know, right now, I canât give what is required to compete at that level, week in and week out. So, Iâm officially announcing my retirement from NASCAR Cup Series competition.â he reflected, and heâs bowing out to prioritize his health and new roles. His resume? Stellar. With 34 wins, 28 poles, and a big win at the Daytona 500 in 2017. đ
Heâs not fading away, though. âIâve appreciated the opportunity to remain actively involved with 23XI, Monster Energy, and the Toyota Racing family,â Busch noted. As he shifts gears, Buschâs legacy as one of NASCARâs 75 Greatest Drivers remains intact. đđ

Palouâs DĂ©jĂ vu
McLaren Racing isnât feeling the love after Alex Palou, the 2021 IndyCar champ, took a detour from his 2022 McLaren deal. Palou seemed set to join Arrow McLaren in â24 but now is steering back to Chip Ganassi Racing. đ
CEO Zak Brown? Not thrilled. âAlex informed us he has no intention of honouring his contract⊠We have a contract so this is now in a legal process,â Brown said. He hinted at the unpredictability of F1: âDrivers can break their wrists in an instant.â đ
Brownâs mood? đ âVery disappointing.â He emphasized the âfam feelâ at McLaren and said being left hanging wasnât cool.
On track? McLaren eyes Patricio OâWard for future tests while itâs âbusiness as usualâ for the seasonâs rookie runs.
